Quarterly earnings will set trend for Sensex & Nifty

Investors will watchout for quarterly earnings from corporates and macro-economic indicators to gauge global demand.

�Sensex & Nifty gained 2% during last week despite bond yields rallying globally. Domestic earnings show margin contraction due to high inflationary pressures and corporates are hinting for earnings growth slowdown as the global demand weakens. In the coming week investors will watchout for US Q3 preliminary growth data and quarterly earnings from tech stocks. Domestic investors will gauge Q2 earnings closely.

Equity Market Summary:

o   Wallstreet indices sharply higher on Friday, for week all 3 major indices reported strong weekly gains.

o   Chinese economy expanded a seasonally adjusted 3.9% on quarter in the three months to September 2022, beating market forecasts of 3.5%.

o   China's industrial production advanced by 6.3% YoY in September 2022, beating market consensus of a 4.5% growth and August's reading of 4.2%.

o   Core consumer price index in Japan, which excludes fresh food but includes fuel costs, jumped 3% in September 2022 from a year ago, accelerating from 2.8% in August to the fastest pace in eight years.
